Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Choresday ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

Choresday is developed and distributed by Nectar Mobile Development ("we," "us," or "our"). These terms govern your use of the App and the optional household sync service it connects to (together, "the Service").

Purchase and Lifetime License

Choresday is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase, no ads, and no recurring fee. Your purchase gives you a license to use the App, including its online features, for the lifetime of the application: for as long as Nectar Mobile Development continues to support and distribute Choresday.

Each Google account that installs Choresday needs its own purchase, unless the purchase is shared through Google Play Family Library with members of your Google Play family group. There is no free trial; refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policies and any rights you have under applicable law.

"Lifetime" refers to the supported life of the App, not to the life of the purchaser or of any particular device.

Nectar Mobile Development is an independent, single-developer operation. We may end support for, stop distributing, or decommission the App at any time, at our sole discretion, for any reason — including that continuing it is no longer commercially viable. The section below describes exactly what happens in that case.

Online Services and How Long They Last

Choresday works fully on your phone on its own. The optional household features (sharing chores with other members of your household, syncing between phones, nudges, rings, and household notifications) depend on online services that we operate, together with Google Firebase Cloud Messaging.

We will provide these online services for as long as we continue to support the App. If we decide to discontinue Choresday:

  • We will post a notice on this website at least 90 days before the online services end. Decommission notices are posted on this website (nectarmobile.dev), not inside the App. Check this website for the App's current status.
  • After that date, household sharing, sync, nudges, rings, and household notifications will stop working, and the data held by our sync service will be deleted.
  • The App will keep working on your phone. The records stored on your phone remain yours, and you can keep using the features that do not depend on our servers.
  • Before the services end, admins can export the household's history to CSV from within the App.

Discontinuing the online services at the end of the App's supported life does not, by itself, entitle you to a refund, except where required by law or by Google Play's policies.

The online services may also be briefly unavailable for maintenance or because of problems outside our control. The App is designed to keep working offline and to catch up when the service returns.

License to Use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Choresday on Android devices you own or control, for its intended purpose: organizing chores and routines for yourself or your household.

You may:

  • Install and use the App on devices you own or control, as Google Play permits
  • Create a household or join one with a code from its admin
  • Export your household's records at any time (admins)

You may not:

  • Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices from the App
  • Use the App for any illegal purposes
  • Distribute or sell the App to others
  • Interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or to another household's data

Households

The person who creates a household is its admin. Admins can invite people with the admin, member, or kid role, using a one-time join code. If you are a household admin, you are responsible for:

  • Sharing join codes only with people who should be part of your household
  • Adding a child only if you are that child's parent or legal guardian, and choosing a first name or nickname for them
  • Removing members and devices that should no longer have access
  • Using erasure carefully: erasing a person removes their records from every phone in the household and cannot be undone
  • Understanding that deleting the household ends access for every member immediately, and that its data is permanently erased from our service after 30 days

Everyone in a household can see the household's chores and activity. Only share what you are comfortable sharing with your household.

Nudges and Rings

Nudges and rings are for friendly reminders about chores. A ring makes another member's phone sound loudly, so:

  • Only ring people who have agreed to it. A phone rings only if ringing has been allowed for it: adults choose this for themselves, and a parent chooses it for a child's phone.
  • Do not use nudges or rings to harass, frighten, or pressure anyone. Rings are limited by quiet hours and rate limits, and always show who rang.
  • Choresday is not an emergency or safety service. Nudges and rings depend on the other phone's connection, settings, and Google Play services, and may arrive late or not at all.

Allowance Tracking Is Not a Financial Service

Choresday never moves money. Allowance balances, savings jars, "interest," rewards, and cash-outs are numbers you record for your own household. Choresday is not a bank, payment service, or financial product, holds no funds, and offers no financial advice. Any real payment happens outside the App, between you and your household. Pretend "interest" is a teaching tool, not a real return.

Reminders

Chore reminders and the daily digest depend on your phone's settings, battery management, and notification permissions. We cannot guarantee that every reminder will be delivered on time.

AS-IS Warranty Disclaimer

CHORESDAY IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We do not warrant that:

  • The App or the Service will be error-free or uninterrupted
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The App will meet your specific requirements
  • Reminders, sync, nudges, rings, or notifications will always be delivered
  • The App is compatible with all devices or Android versions

We make no guarantees beyond the functionality described in the App's listing on the Google Play Store.

Your Data and Backups

Choresday data is excluded from Android's device backup. You are responsible for keeping copies of records that matter to you; admins can export the household's history to CSV at any time. We are not responsible for data lost through device failure, uninstalling the App, leaving or deleting a household, erasing a person, or the end of the online services described above.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NECTAR MOBILE DEVELOPMENT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

  • Your use or inability to use the App or the Service
  • Missed or late reminders, nudges, or rings, or sync and notification delays
  • Allowance, reward, or payment arrangements made between members of your household
  • The end of the online services at the end of the App's supported life
  • Any other matter relating to the App

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App.

Privacy

How we handle your information, including children's information, is described in our Privacy Policy.

Updates and Modifications

We may update the App from time to time to add features, fix bugs, or improve performance. Updates are provided through the Google Play Store. Ending the App's online services is governed by the "Online Services and How Long They Last" section above.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by leaving your household and uninstalling it from your device. Your license terminates automatically if you violate these Terms, and we may suspend access to the Service for any household or device we reasonably believe is being used in violation of these Terms.

Intellectual Property

Choresday and all related trademarks, logos, and branding are the property of Nectar Mobile Development. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property except for the limited license to use the App as described above. You keep ownership of the records you create.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Nectar Mobile Development operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Nectar Mobile Development regarding the use of Choresday.

Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and post the new Terms on this page. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
