TaskWindow is developed by Nectar Mobile Development. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding data collection and use. The short version: we don't collect any of your data. Everything stays on your device.
Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal information or user data. Period.
TaskWindow operates entirely on your device. We do not have servers that collect, store, or process your information. The app does not track your usage, does not collect analytics, and does not transmit any data to us or any third parties.
Data Storage
All your data is stored locally on your device only:
- Your tasks, notes, and next actions
- Your tags and categories
- Your reminder schedules and preferences
- Your deadline and weather settings
This information never leaves your device and is never transmitted to Nectar Mobile Development or any third party. When you uninstall the app, all data is deleted.
How the App Works
TaskWindow stores all data in a local database on your device. The only network connection the app makes is to check weather conditions (using your approximate location) to determine if weather-dependent tasks should trigger reminders. This weather check:
- Uses your location only to fetch local weather data
- Does not store or transmit your location to us
- Does not track your location history
- Only occurs when you have weather-dependent tasks with reminders enabled
Third-Party Services
TaskWindow uses a weather API service to check current temperature conditions. This service receives only your approximate location coordinates to return weather data. We do not control this third-party service's data practices, but no personal information or task data is ever shared with them.
TaskWindow does not use any analytics services, advertising networks, or data collection tools. The app is distributed through the Google Play Store, which has its own privacy policy and data collection practices independent of TaskWindow.
Permissions
TaskWindow requires certain Android permissions to function. None of these permissions are used to collect, store, or transmit your personal data to us or any third party. All task data remains on your device.
Location Permissions
- Approximate Location (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): Used solely to fetch current weather conditions for your area. This allows TaskWindow to check if outdoor/weather-dependent tasks should trigger reminders based on temperature. Your location is never recorded, stored, or transmitted to us.
- Precise Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION): Provides more accurate weather data for your specific location. Like approximate location, this is only used for weather checks and is never stored or transmitted to us.
Note: Location is only accessed when checking weather for weather-dependent task reminders. If you don't use weather-dependent tasks, location is never accessed.
Internet Permission
- Internet (INTERNET): Required to fetch current weather data from a weather API service. This is the only network activity the app performs. No task data, personal information, or usage analytics are ever transmitted.
Notification Permission
- Post Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): To send you task reminders at the times you configure. Notifications include action buttons to complete tasks or change status without opening the app.
Scheduling Permissions
- Receive Boot Completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): To restore your scheduled task reminders after your device restarts. Without this, reminders would be lost when you reboot your phone.
- Schedule Exact Alarm (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): To schedule reminders at the exact times you specify (e.g., 8:00 AM daily).
- Use Exact Alarm (USE_EXACT_ALARM): Required on newer Android versions to ensure reminders fire at precise times.
All permissions are used solely for the app's core functionality and not for data collection of any kind.
Children's Privacy
Because we do not collect any data, TaskWindow does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13. The app is suitable for all ages from a privacy perspective.
Your Rights
Since we don't collect any data about you, there is no data for you to access, modify, or delete from our systems. All app data is stored locally on your device and can be cleared by:
- Uninstalling the app
- Clearing the app's data through your device settings
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change our data collection practices, we will update this Privacy Policy and the "Last Updated" date. Any changes will be posted on this page. We recommend checking this page periodically for any updates.
