NidoNotes ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you use our website at NidoNotes.com and our related services. NidoNotes is developed and operated by Nectar Mobile Development.
By accessing or using our services, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Account information: name, email address, password (stored as a hash)
- Profile information: age, mailing address, location (when you choose to provide it)
- Content you upload: photos, descriptions, item details, receipts, and other documentation you add about your property and belongings
- Communications: any messages you send to us
We automatically collect certain technical information when you use our services:
- Device information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers
- Usage information: pages visited, features used, time spent, referring URLs, language preferences
- Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve our services
- Store and organize the home documentation and property data you create
- Provide AI-assisted item identification, description, and valuation (photos and descriptions you upload may be processed by AI services solely to provide these features)
- Communicate with you about your account, security, support, and service updates
- Personalize features and recommendations based on data you have stored
- Process transactions and prevent fraud
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
3. How We Share Your Information
We share your personal information only as described below.
Service providers. We share information with third parties who help us operate our services. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations to protect your information. Our current providers include:
- Hosting and infrastructure: self-hosted on company-owned hardware. Domain DNS is provided by Namecheap.
- AI processing: Google (Gemini), Mistral AI, xAI (Grok), and OpenRouter for cloud-based image and text analysis; self-hosted Ollama running on our own hardware for local fallback processing. Photos and descriptions you upload may be transmitted to one of these providers solely to generate the AI output you requested. Providers are contractually prohibited from using your content to train their models.
- Payment processing: Stripe. Payment card details are submitted directly to Stripe and are not stored on our servers.
- Email delivery: sent over SMTP through our email service provider for transactional messages (account verification, password resets, notifications, weekly digests).
- Analytics: Google Analytics, used to understand aggregate usage of the service. See Section 7 for details and opt-out information.
- Error tracking: We do not use third-party error tracking services.
Shared property access. If you grant another user access to a property you own in NidoNotes, that user can view information you have added to the shared property. You control which properties to share and with whom, and you may revoke access at any time.
Legal compliance and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, in response to lawful requests by public authorities, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of NidoNotes, our users, or the public.
Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, monetary consideration, or any other valuable consideration.
4. Affiliate Links and Recommendations
Our service may display product recommendations or links to third-party websites (such as retailers, manufacturers, or service providers) based on items you have documented. When you click such a link, you leave NidoNotes and any information you provide on the destination site is governed by that site's privacy policy. We may earn a commission from qualifying purchases made through these links at no additional cost to you. Clicking an affiliate link does not transmit your NidoNotes account data to the destination site.
5. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. While we take reasonable steps to secure the data you provide, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal compliance, dispute resolution, or fraud prevention. You may export your data in a portable format at any time from within the app.
7. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential service functions (such as keeping you logged in) and to understand how our service is used in aggregate. We use Google Analytics to measure traffic and feature usage; Google Analytics sets cookies and may collect IP addresses and device information governed by Google's privacy policy. We do not allow third-party advertising networks to track you through our service, and we do not permit our analytics provider to use your data for advertising purposes.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work without them. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by using your browser's "Do Not Track" or similar privacy controls.
8. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Delete your personal information
- Export your information in a portable format
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

9. California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.
Categories of personal information we collect: Identifiers (name, email, IP address), customer records (mailing address, age), commercial information (transaction history), internet or network activity (usage data), geolocation (when provided), and user-generated content (photos and descriptions of your property and belongings).
Categories of sources: Directly from you, automatically from your device when you use our services, and from service providers acting on our behalf.
Business purposes for collection: As described in Section 2.
Sale or sharing of personal information: NidoNotes does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, including for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months. If our practices ever change, we will update this policy and provide a clear opt-out mechanism before any such sale or sharing begins.
Sensitive personal information: We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted under the CCPA without limitation. You have the right to limit our use of sensitive personal information.
Your California rights:

- Right to correct inaccurate personal information
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information (not applicable, as we do not sell or share)
- Right to limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal information

We verify identity using reasonable measures, such as confirming access to the email address on your account, and will respond within 45 days. You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf; we may require verification of the agent's authority.
10. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at info@nidonotes.com so we can delete it.
11. International Users
NidoNotes is operated from the United States. If you access our services from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy and a notice on our website at nectarmobile.dev at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Posting on nectarmobile.dev constitutes sufficient notice; we are not required to provide notice within the application or by email. Your continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
